Like the business builders they serve, Sage began as a startup. Their founder David Goldman wanted to automate accounting processes in his own business. He worked with a team of Newcastle University students in the UK to develop software to make it happen and realised other businesses could benefit from this too.
In 1981, he formed Sage. In 1998, Sage came to North America with the acquisition of leading desktop accounting software, Peachtree.
Today Sage has 13 000 employees and serves over 3 million customers in 23 countries across mainland Europe, Africa, Australia, Asia and Latin America.
In 2017, Sage acquired Intacct and Fairsail. In 2018, Sage launched Sage Business Cloud.

We develop innovative Add-Ons to enhance the functionality of Sage 300 (formerly Accpac). Orchid has built a close working relationship with Sage’s Development Team through the development of OEM and Gold Certified add-ons for Sage 300.
Norming Software began their development partnership with Sage Software in 2000. In the past 20 years of developing add-on software products for Sage, they received a number of awards and recognition in the worldwide Sage channels for their products, including Asset Management, Payroll Manager, and PSA. All these products are developed using the Sage 300 SDK, providing 100% integration with Sage 300, have all the standard features, look, feel and level of integration you would expect to find in a core Sage 300 module. These products are used by more than 5000 customers in over 52 countries.
